What Causes Severe Cramp In The Stomach After Sex?

hello im 30 years old i had a miscarriage in march of this and we decided to try again in may my period is due tomorrow, however since saturday after i had sex i have had severe cramp in my stomach and down my right side. i went to the doctors they think it is a water infection but my wee does not sting he gave me antibiotics. im still not sure tho i do normally get slight cramp a day or 2 before my period my never this bad. could i be pregnant i do hope so

Hello,

You are experiencing severe cramp in the stomach after sex. You have your periods due. You are expecting to be pregnant as you already had a miscarriage in March. After sex stomach cramp commonly occurs due to deep penetration, orgasm, gastritis, it can be a physical reaction when you are not emotionally ready for sex. You can take Digene gel (10ml) or Rantac (150mg), it will go away if its due to gas.

Other medical conditions that can cause stomach cramp after sex are PID, fibroid, cyst or endometriosis. To prevent stomach cramp after sex, use lubricants and make sure that you are emotionally ready for sex. UTI sometimes causes similar symptoms, get urinalysis (C/S and R/E) done. You will be according treated. If you miss your periods you should get clinically examined by your OBGYN. Get blood tests, urine test and USG done to confirm pregnancy. Do not take stress. Avoid doing heavy work.
