What Causes Severe Cramps After Intercourse And Constipation?
Hi! I had the IUD skyla inserted on the 20th of August. I have had really bad cramping the past two days. Also, the two times I had sex in the past week I had cramping after. Is this something I should be concerned about? I might also be slightly constipated since that happens somewhat regularly, but I took miralax yesterday and this morning and it hasn t made a difference. Thank you!!
* As per my clinical experience, the IUD insertion may have provoked some sort of pelvic inflammation issue which can lead to spasm as well secondary constipation also.
* However additional details are needed to know the issue more thoroughly
1. current menstrual pattern
2. associated back ache, radiation of pain
3. discharge of any fluid from vagina
4. urinary discomfort
My guidelines at present
- drink more liquids
- prefer high fiber diet
- bulk forming laxative as Ispaghula husk
- avoid intercourse at present till recovery
- anti spasmodic medication as drotaverine after meals
* Consult your doc for prescription of antibiotics if needed after radiology evaluation with ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
