Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In my left calf I have really sever cramps,I can be sitting or laying in bed before I go to sleep so what can I eat or drink to help stop them? I am over weight so can t get in a tub what else can be done. Carla Hill age is 69yrs
Ms Hill your complaint seems to be deficiency of some essential nutrient. Calcium deficiency is a common cause of calf pain in your age group. It may be that you are off and on electrolyte deficient too. If you are taking any Blood Pressure medication please refer it in your next correspondence. If you have to urinate more frequently it must be a diuretic . Diuretics are common cause of Electrolyte deficiency. Also if you give your blood for Calcium and Electrolytes, please tell them to check your Vitamin D levels too. I think therapeutic doses of Calcium and Vit D will benefit you. Out of the foods, eat Poultry and drink milk frequently .They both are rich sources of Calcium and Vit D as also is Banana.
Hope that helps.
