What Causes Severe Discomfort And Pain In Upper Abdomen?

Hi-- For the last month I have had a constant feeling of indigestion in the upper part of my stomach and it did seem to get worse at night but now seems to come and go all day. I had an ultrasound a few days ago on my kidneys, liver, and liver that came back normal. Today I felt pain right below my ribcage on the left side and pushed where the pain was and the pain was much worse. Whatever I was pushing on below my ribcage was definitely sore. It doesn t seem to matter what I eat or when that causes my pain to return. I have not run any fever and my blood pressure was 128/78 three days ago. I am 67 and I have been in excellent health most of my life. I still have my appendix and have had no surgeries on my stomach other than a tubal some 40 years ago.

Hi there.

You are having Acid peptic disease. Avoid smoking, alcohol, fast food, oily, spicy food. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Drink plenty of water. Consult a Gastroenterologist and get an endoscopy to confirm.
