To DR Andrew Rynne or whoever is on duty.I am 71 and initially had been experiencing pains in chest and back of throat radiating into the ears after doing 50m butterfly "sprints" so to speak for an old guy like me. This began about one year ago. Subsequent tests by cardiologist found mild blockage of 30-40 % and mild heart enlargement, but suggested pain is probably due to other unkowns. As a precaution I am on Perindopril erbumine 8mg, asprin 100g and Allopurinol 300mg for gout condition. To complicate matters I have experienced fairly severe gullet pain at times depending on the food intake. About 30 odd years ago I was diagnosed with an abraised gullet. Subsequent prescription of Nexium tablets 25 odd years ago caused uncomfortable cough and phlem issues promting me to discontinue. Have been managing issue by leaving approx six hours between meals and cutting back drastically on high acid foods but have not sought medical advice on that issue since. From time to time it still remains a problem.I last saw the Cardiologist about three months ago mentioning discomfort and mild pain after walking for about 15 minutes. He seemed not too uconcerned about that, perhaps having established it was not a cardiac problem and was outside his area of expertise.What seems to be of some concern now is that in the last 3 days or so I have experienced fairly severe discomfort and some pain at the back of the throat and upper chest raidiating as pressure and some pain in my ears every time I walk about 100-200 metres.
