I have horrible dizziness....grabbing walls, like I am on a boat. What should I do? I had this about a year or so ago, and I thought it simply was water in my ears, and it passed after 2 days and eardrops. But I don t think its water in my ears this time, it just came on me during the night.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. - Dehydration/ weakness/ low blood sugar in diabetic patients/ anxiety-tension o/ thickening of blood vessels causing less blood supply to base of brain /some problem with heart can cause it. Many a times such dizziness is related to internal ear problem . .. concerned with labyrinth. which causes head postural dizziness or vertigo.. this can be noted during night time in the peculiar posture of head. You had it just once after 2 years, but still it's better to get examined by an a general physician/ ENT specialist to confirm the cause & get specific medicines Thanks.
