Hi,
There could be several possible causes of
severe dizziness while lying down, including:
*
Inner ear disorders: One possibility is that you may have an inner ear disorder, such as benign paroxysmal positional
vertigo (BPPV), which is caused by calcium crystals that have moved into the wrong part of the inner ear.
* Orthostatic hypotension: Another possibility is that you may have orthostatic hypotension, which is a drop in blood pressure that occurs when you stand up too quickly.
* Medication side effects: Dizziness can also be a side effect of certain medications, such as anti-hypertensives or antipsychotics.
* Dehydration: Dehydration can also cause dizziness, so make sure you are drinking enough water.
Given that you also have a
stiff neck with the degenerative disease in C5 & C6, this may also be a contributing factor to your dizziness. It is possible that the fractured tooth could be related to your symptoms, but it is unlikely to be the primary cause.
It would be best to schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms and undergo a thorough evaluation. Your provider may refer you to an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist or a
neurologist for further evaluation and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
