Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good day, for a few months now I've been having a reaction around my mouth area and im not sure what the cause is. It started around winter and I thought it was due to the cold weather , now winter is over but it has refused to go away. My mouth area gets excessively dry and there's breakage around my mouth and lip. Please advice what could be wrong and remedy to this.
As per your query you have symptoms of severe dryness around the mouth which seeme to be due to perioral dermatitis and if oral cavity is getting dry from inside it is due to xerostomia i.e dry mouth. Need not to panic about it. I would advise you to take vitamin C. in diet properly. You should drink orange juice daily. Maintain hygiene of oral cavity to prevent bacterial growth. Avoid exposure to sunlight and cover your skin while going outside. Drink tomato juice or eat raw tomatoes. Visit dentist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Apply Dologel on these sores.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get well Soon. Dr. Harry Maheshwari
