Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What can I do to relieve extremely dry eyes. I ve tried lubricated eye drops, refresh eye drops (2 - 6 drops a day). I also have tried multiple sleep eye masks but due to using a cpap, they always come loose. I even tried using swimming goggles at night. I also bought Dry Eye - a moist heat compress and use that but my eyes are so dry that I m told the tears evaporate to quickly. It s affecting my sight, and my distance sight especially. I had cateract surgery last March, and they tell me it has nothing to do with the lenses that were implanted. Have you any suggestions?

What Causes Severe Dryness In The Eyes?
Hi thanks for asking question. Noted you have dry eyes...You are using lubricant drops also.... You should consult Ophthalm surgeon also for investigation.. First simple inflammation can lead dry eye. Antihistaminic may needed. But after consulting doc only it is taken as it also can lead dry eye. If infection suspected antibiotic drop also used.... Vitamin A deficiency and diabetis ruled out . For diabetis random blood sugar estimation done. If associated dry mouth also present then sjogren syndrome ruled out.... Anti RO antibody useful. If rashes over face present then SLE like condition ruled out by ANA... If you have thyroid problem then also dry eye can occur.... If you are constant working in computer or reading then less blink so also one of the cause.... Hope your concern solved.. Take care
