Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had problems with my ear for last 5/6 weeks I went to have them syringed but had one done and it extremely painful and gave me laryngitis type spinning sensation so am now booked to have them suctioned...however in last 2 weeks have had the spinning sensation when bending forward and looking upwards and when I lay down in bed its starts not for long and again when I first get up ?
The dizziness when you do certain head movements or when you lay down is very likely due to BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). This is a condition where small sand-like stones collect in the fluids at the area of the ear that is responsible for the balance and cause you to feel dizzy with certain movements.
A visit with the doctor will easily diagnose this condition and the doctor will be able to treat you in his office with Epley maneuver (which helps relocate the small calculi, improving your symptoms).
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
