Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom, 95 1/2 years old, says she is tired, not a surprise, but also that her chest is tired and her extremeties are cold. She hasn t been sleeping well the last couple nights. She does goes to areobics 2 times a week and is very strong and active. However, I m wondering if I should take her to ergent care, although I will have a fight on my hands. As I mentions she is very strong, not just physically but mentally, too.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, you should definitely take her to emergency room.
Since she is above 70 years, chest pain, cold extremities, weakness etc should be evaluated for heart diseases like coronary artery disease (CAD). So take her to emergency room and get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg, 2D echo and stress test (trade mill test).
She may need coronary angiography if any of the above is positive for heart disease.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
