What Causes Severe Fatigue And Recurrent Iritis While Treating Sleep Apnea?
I have not felt well for most of a year. I am 46 and have been hospitalized with hypertension 2x s this year -now controlled, diagnosed with sleep apnea and been on cpap for 6 months and continue to have severe fatigue. I also developed recurrent iritis and about 3 months ago I was told that I had small vessel disease. Over the last several weeks I noticed that my hand and leg would shake and I had involuntary spasms in my arm and legs after minimal activity. I just had a complete metabolic panel done and everything was normal. Do you have any ideas what further testing I should have done, if any.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The involuntary movement of hand and leg could be due to sleep apnea syndrome. You need to consult your pulmonologist for the involuntary movements. Iritis is inflammation of the iris of the eye and it is no way associated with sleep apnea or involuntary movements. Iritis is seen in infections like tuberculosis and connective tissue disorders like small vessel disease as mentioned by you. Treatment of iritis caused by small vessel disease can be treated by treating the underlying small vessel disease. I suggest you to consult your physician for treatment of small vessel disease. You need to consult an ophthalmologist to take care of the iritis. Iritis will resolve once the underlying cause is treated. Symptomatic treatment like pain killers and pupil dilators can be used under supervision of your ophthalmologist is required.
