Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes.....I m on my 3rd week of 3Xa day Cefazolin infusions for a MSSA infection deep in my bone (Tibia) that was shattered in April. I feel tired and queasy parts of every day. Is this a common side effect and will it last the remaining 3 weeks of my treatment???
Hi! Fatigue is not a common side effect of cefazolin use, but it could be an indirect side effect due to the loss of appetite that this antibiotic can cause. In my opinion, the feeling of sever fatigue and queasy that you are experiencing are mainly due to the bone infection you have, that in medical terms is called osteomyelitis. This is a sever infection that affects all your body, including your immune system causing sever fatigue, nausea (and all other symptoms). You don't have to worry, because while the antibiotic treatment goes on the infection will health day by day and the feeling of fatigue will slowly go away. Take care and thank you for using healthcaremagic for your concern! All the best, Dr. G.Topi
