Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
He might be having pulmonary hypertension which if not treated can go into congestive cardiac failure. He needs to consult his cardiologist who will do some tests like ECG, ECHO and assess parameters like ejection fraction, valve motion etc and suggest whether he needs immediate admission in the hospital or can be managed at home with medications. So i suggest you to take him to his cardiologist at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
