What Causes Severe Foot Pain While Having Varicose Veins?

My 52 year old husband is in severe pain on the outside of his right foot, he has inherited severe varicose vein problems. Two years ago he went for vein stripping and other treatmentments which helped for a little while. Now he is suffering on the outside of the leg with blood pooling below ankle bone. He wears support socks every day and when he sits down at night the pain throbs down in his foot. Is there any thing else that can be done? We are trying ice and heat with no relief, oh yeah his blood pressure is 124 over 82.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The varicose vein can cause severe pain in the feet. You can take analgesics like Tramadol or Diclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
