What Causes Severe Gastritis And Belching Post Intake Of Lexapro?
Am gluten intolerant and follow a gluten free diet. Recently started Lexapro and after a week got severe pain epigastric through to my back. Also noticed HUGE belching gas with eating milk products (never had that before). Could I have developed lactose intolerance? Quit taking the Lexapro until all symptoms eased. Restarted it yesterday and started again with the stomach pain.
Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here
from the medical history you provided it clearly seems that you are gastric intolerant to Lexapro , as you quit the drug and ur symptoms become eased and again when u started it ur symptoms of gastric pain and discomfort again triggered
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. but in your case it is causing a lot discomfort
you should consult with your Prescribing doctor for this , he will probably prescribe any Antacid like pantoparazole along with lexapro to minimize ur side effects or he may change the medicine for you
I hope it help Thanks & Get well Soon
