What Causes Severe Headache After Injuring The Jaw?
My mother was moving furniture with a standing dolly cart, when the piece slipped and the handle hit her in the jaw. She complained of a bad headache and went to sit down and ice her jaw. I just went to check on her and she's fallen asleep. Should I bring her to the hospital?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your mother have symptoms of severe headache after injuring the jaw which seems to be due to temporomandibular joint dysfunction and injury as there is very soft cushion in between.
- Take muscle relaxants and re position jaw whenever it will cause pain.
You should visit oral and maxillofacial surgeon once and get complete examination done and go for X-ray of jaws along with CT scan. Start treatment after complete diagnosis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
