What Causes Severe Headache Along With Pain In The Eyes?

I m a 46 yr old female. I basically have been sick since 2011. The very first pain I noticed (fall of 2010) was in the area of the inside of my right eyebrow. I thought maybe sinuses. Went to doctor and she said sinuses were ok. Sometime around the end of 2010 / beginning of 2011 I experienced a dizzy spell at 2am. I had been sleeping and just woke up with it. It went away after several seconds so I didn t go to the hospital. My PCD sent me to see a neurologist. He got an MRI done of my brain. They saw spots on my cerebellum. But it took them a week to discuss what these spots were. They finally came up with possible stroke. I had a couple more MRIs done during 2011 which showed the spots getting smaller. They prescribed hydrochlorothiazide and propranolol for me. Flexeril helped me back then so I still have that too. But I have not felt right since 2011. I still have head pain. And the right side of my body from head to toe can have pain. Right now my biggest complaint is the constant right side back / abdominal pain I am experiencing. There is also head pain. Like it occurs at the same time. As I type this I am experiencing it. Right side head pain, down my shoulder blade, a spot in my back and abdomen and sometimes my sciatica area (all on the right side). I was diagnosed with slight scoliosis in junior high school. But was not severe enough to wear a brace. I have complained to my PCD about the back pain. 1st time she said I need a massage. Another time she said it was my scoliosis. She finally thought maybe a pinched nerve... did an xray and found only some degeneration. I thought about paying out of pocket to get an MRI done. I just sometimes feel as if something is in there that should not be. Today is a bad day. My head is really bothering me. It even affects my jaw. One time I had a stabbing pain in my right eye. Scared me so I went to the eye doc to make sure nothing tore lose. Just wondering who to see. What kind of doc to hit up? Back specialist? Nerve specialist? Do I have a blocked artery in my abdomen? Just frustrating. I m sick and tired of being sick and tired. This isn t all of my story. Just what is on the forefront right now. Oh yeah, whatever is going on I m sure affected my appendix cause that had to be removed in 2014.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to migraine.

For headache you can take tablet acetaminophen. Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally.

In case of repeated attacks you may require tablet vasograin or propranolol after consultation.

Along with that avoid bright light, high noise. Keep your self hydrated. Take proper rest

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
