Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has a terrible headache and his chest is in constant pain and he threw up earlier, he seems to be breathing ok. He does have a slight cold, we are not sure if he has the flu or if I should take him to the urgent care. Could the headache and chest pain be from his heart or just the flu? He is 53 years old.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The headache and chest pain can be due to flu but it is necessary to rule out any heart related condition. I would advise you to get him checked by a physician. He will check his blood pressure and may also advise an ECG and chest x-ray. Once these tests are clear he may be treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
