What Causes Severe Headache And Cough After Taking Sudogest Tablet?

I went to the doctor for a sinus infection/ear pressure. They gave me a flu shot and prescribed me sudogest, which I ve been taking as prescribed. It is not seeming to help and over the last 3 days I started coughing, causing a major pressure headache in my head. The ear pain has gone away, but I am now having pressure pains on the whole right side of my face, including the cough. I ve been on the sudogest all 3 days, but since my symptoms have morphed, I m wondering whether to stick with sudogest or switch it up?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe headache and cough, well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons but it seems to me that these symptoms probably occur due to Eustachian tube dysfunction/upper respiratory tract infection/sinusitis and post nasal drip. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day. You should take steam twice a day. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene.
