What Causes Severe Headache During Intercourse?

I had a Thunder Clap headache for the first time, last month while having sex, and at the point of climax. It was on my left temple, and was completely debilitating, it dropped me to my knees. My wife said my left temple was bulging . More concerning is for the last 2 months, I have been feeling a very very slight tingling sensation at my right temple and ear. It is very slight, and feels almost like a hair brushing against the skin, but it is beneath the surface. It used to happen once a day, now it is very frequent. I don t know if the two are related. Thank you, Jim age 56

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the description of the symptoms, I would like to suggest that you need to consult Physician after getting the following investigations done.
1. Blood pressure monitoring in sitting, supine and standing positions.
2. MRI scan of the cranial region.

Based on the investigation reports and clinical evaluation appropriate treatment can be administered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
