What Causes Severe Headaches After Receiving Botox Injections?
I received Botox injections last week for my migraines and one of the injections sites is very sensitive to touch as if a nerve was hit when the injection was given. It has never happened before when I have received them before. I have called the office and they haven t gotten back with me on whether or not I need to come in to be seen. My headaches have also been bad since I received the injections. I had a really bad migraine on Sunday and I got the injections on last Wednesday. I have had to rely on pain medications since I had them.
Severe headache after Botox injections commonly occurs due to technical error while giving the injection or over contraction of the muscles. However, you can take Ibuprofen (Motrin) or Tylenol to get relieve. Headache is a potential side effect of Botox treatment. If you have severe headache, avoid Botox treatment next time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
