What Causes Severe Headaches Along With Dizziness And Rapid Heart Rate?

Hello Doc, My daughter is 17 years old. Se is a bio student and going to appear for her boards exam after a week. nowadays she complains of full time severe headaches some times comes down. feels dizzy and her heartbeats and headaches shoots up while going up stairs. what could be the reason after these symtoms.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe headaches along with dizziness and rapid heart rate . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like panic attack , cardiomyopathy , dehydration , autonomic instability , acid reflux or other heart related problem like irregular rhythm . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination without any delay . Doctor may order tests like ECG , TMT , complete blood lipid profile ,echocardiogram and cardiac catheterization .Doctor may also order angiography . Doctor may prescribe sedative , beta blockers , aspirin and calcium channel blockers . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist or ENT specialist if doctor find this problem to be related ear or acid reflux respectively . Doctor prescribe anti emetic drug along with antibiotics for ear infection .
