Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Sudden onset
headaches with visual symptoms need to be checked for tumors in the brain or raised intracranial pressure.
*do you have any vomiting?
*do you wear prescription glasses?
*how old are you?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medications?
*how severe is the pain, on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest)?
*do you smoke or consume alcohol?
I recommend :
-a physician consult
- a CT scan of the brain. An MRI if necessary
-blood tests (
complete blood count,
Thyroid stimulating hormone,
prolactin levels, kidney & liver function tests)
-urine analysis
Based on these, we can arrive at a diagnosis & initiate a treatment plan.
If you have any
muscle weakness, or the headache worsens, or have vomiting that seems to temporarily relieve the headache, got to the ER right away. Avoid driving or operating machinery till this situation is resolved.
Hope this helps. Wish you good health. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
