What Causes Severe Headaches, Upset Stomach, Reflux And Lightheadedness?

I had the flu the end of March. I am still not feeling great. I get bad headaches and seem to have an upset stomach a lot. Sometimes it turns into a id reflux. I am trying Prilosec, Zantac and the Alia seltzer acid chews. I was very light headed several weeks back and several times my legs just gave out. Now, there are times when I am just light headed and it passes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suffering from severe headaches, upset stomach, reflux and light headedness. The cause of your symptoms are indicative of dehydration, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, liver dysfunction, GERD, IBS, developing peptic ulcer, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all routine blood workouts, tests, investigations and imaging tests done to detect the pathology so that treatment can be started.

In the meantime, take PPI's, one SOS when needed for relief. Take adequate water and fluids to compensate for the minerals, sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc., in your body electrolyte system. An imbalance in the body electrolyte system will produce symptoms that you are experiencing. Do not skip meals take home made nutritious food in time so that your blood pressure and blood glucose level is maintained. Since your stomach needs rest take bland or boiled food. Avoid taking fried, oily, spicy food. Take antidiarrheal if needed. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
