Hi, recently I have been having horrible headaches. They are mainly on my right side of my face and at the back of my head. At times, it can make me feel like my face is burning. I have tried taking over the counter medicine and nothing is working. I have got MRI done about a year ago and the doctor said it came back fine. My BP is averaging at 117/83.
Migraine can cause several symptoms in our body, particularly the Gastrointestinal tract. These symptoms ate:
Nausea, vomiting, anorexia, loss of appetite, constipation, blurring of vision in addition to throbbing pain in the head. So for Stomach and intestinal function is concerned it is effected especially nervous system controlling its functions.
As such activity of stomach and intestines slows down causing gastric stasis or delay in emptying of food to intestines from the stomach. This is the main reason for vomiting, nausea and other effects.
Basically, the pressure created during migraine attack stimulates the nervous system in the brain controlling the functions of the gut which get compromised and lead to vomiting and nausea.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
