What Causes Severe Heart Palpitations During Colonoscopy?

I had a colonoscopy yesterday, started to have heart palpitations during prep which have continued through day of colonoscopy ( yesterday) and through today- should I call my doctor? I take Metoprolol 25 mg succ for high blood pressure associated with copd

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the symptoms of heart palpitation then it may not be due to colonoscopy but it may be heart condition it self some time it may not be like that and it may be just due to over consciousness it is better to get done the EKG and that is the best option you have hope this information helps.
