What Causes Severe High Fever After Taking Plan B Birth Control Pill?

I have had unprotrective sex Sunday Aug 30 around 1:30 pm, he didn t actually finish but I know there s a chance of sperm in pre cum. I took plan b one step Tuesday Sept 1 around 8:00. I didn t take it with food. Is the pill still effective? Also I have a fever today, is this a side effect? Please help

I can understand your concern.

To be effective Plan-B birth control pill should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse or a known or suspected contraceptive failure. Since you have taken it within 72 hours of unprotected sex, it can be effective.

Common side effects of Plan-B include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, dizziness, tired feeling, breast pain or tenderness, changes in your menstrual periods, or headache.

Fever is not the side effect of Plan-B.

It could be due to urine infection following the unprotected sex.
I advise you to get the urine examination done and consult a doctor for proper treatment.
