Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Hip And Back Pain Along With Blood In Stool?
I have been waiting for a colonoscopy for 5.5 months due to a high reading of blood in my stool during a routine fecal occult test. The only symptoms I have to potentially relate this to colon cancer is lower back pain right into the glutes plus visual blood now showing during bowel movements. I am a 52 year old female in relatively good shape. I sit all day for my job which has caused much hip pain in the past few years. Over this past 5.5 months the pain in my back has spread and presently I feel a pressure/cramp discomfort on both of my sides just below my rib cage. My blood work has shown no markers to cancer but I have been taking exceptional care of my health since the initial test. I m very frustrated with the disregard I have received from 2 doctors in regards to this back pain suggesting it s simply an age issue. Can you offer me some advice? Thanks kindly!
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, I could guess that your main concern would be your back pain and this could be due to musculoskeletal pain and this would be more intense in depressive and anxiety phase try to low down the stress, and stop worrying for this, once the test results are unremarkable then this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps, take care.
