What Causes Severe Hip Pain Post A Replacement Surgery?

Yes I have had both hips removed, with prothesis implanted, the right hip was a recalled prosthesis, of which I had 2 revisionary surgery before the correct prosthesis was installed. It has been 4 to 5 years since the orig hip was replaced, and 2nd hip was replaced in early 2012. now after mild exercise daily, both hips begin aching in late afternoon or night! I did not get good results with steroid shots early on, 3 with the first hip that was later recalled & removed, & replaced 2times. I was quite active before surgery, but now not so well, my good hip is giving more pain than the recalled hip now, What can I do ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, issue can be with ligament sprain or strain rather than bony issue. I would suggest a CT scan of the both hips to get details of tissue structures and healing for best guidance of curative pathway.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
