What Causes Severe Hip Pain?

Severe hip pain in left leg. Walking, standing, sitting all generate pain. Can sleep at night hip hurts so bad, pain seems like pain travels down the leg and makes the whole leg ache. Has happened over the last couple of months with increased discomfort finally getting to point of severe pain constantly.

Thanks for the query I understand your concern.
- Severe hip pain can be caused by hip joint inflammation ( arthritis )
- The conduction of pain down the leg , pain in all positions indicate -Pinching of sciatic nerve in sciatic notch in pelvis or by pyriformis muscle syndrome./ lumber disc problem
* Home care consists of complete rest & anti inflammatory pills ( Ibuprofen )over the counter till the pain subsides followed by
* Consult an orthopedic surgeon , get investigated (blood test for arthritis ( R factor),MRI of spine and hip joint would find exact cause followed by specific medication/ light physiotherapy.
