What Causes Severe Itching At The Surgical Site?

Had malignant melanoma removed over a year ago (back of neck) WLE, negative nodes and clean margins. For about two weeks now I wake up and the site itches a lot. Have a regular check up on Friday with my onco surgeon. Could this be a return of the cancer?

Hello Dear. Itching near a mole can be sign of melanoma. But since in your case it has been removed and lymph nodes are negative can think of other causes like fungal or bacterial infection. In any case have a follow up with your oncosurgeon and get evaluated.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
