Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has severe itching and it s in the middle of our sleeping hours. Would there be anything that we may have in the home just now that would bring some comfort to him? We have tried roll on bio-freeze and dermatox spray. Both only help temporarily. Would appreciate any help you are, able to share with us at this time.
Hello I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Itching in the middle of the night could be caused by parasitic infestation like scabies, allergic reaction, bedbugs and many other diseases. To initiate the treatment underlying cause is to be diagnosed, look for presence of any skin changes particularly in the areas of skin folds. Wash and dry the linen, clothes, blankets and pillows in sun along with looking for bugs. Try using over the counter antihistamine like Zyrtec once daily for the itch, if rash or skin changes are noted with itch kindly consult a dermatologist. An allergy profile test will also help to rule out allergy as a cause of itch if the symptoms subside with Zyrtec the exact cause of allergy must be known. I hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
