What Causes Severe Itching In Genitals?

okay so about a week ago my genitals were very itchy for some reason. my boyfriend and I do have unprotected sex for the most part. the itching went away after about 5 days, there were no bumps or any sign of a rash. now this week he has a red patch of skin under the head of his penis and we are not sure what it is. I thought my itching was just from him going to so deep and the yeast and everything way inside the vagina was causing some imbalance. any ideas ?

Both the sex partners need medication (both local and oral) along with abstinence till its healed in both is needed. Fluconazole oral and local ointment are usually prescribed. Hi,

Genital itching can be caused by a variety of factors, including infections, allergies, and skin conditions. Some common causes of genital itching include:
* Yeast infections: Yeast infections are caused by an overgrowth of Candida fungus and can cause intense itching in the genital area. This is more common in women than men.
* Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): STIs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and herpes can cause genital itching along with other symptoms such as pain, discharge, and sores.
* Allergic reactions: Allergic reactions to soaps, detergents, fabrics, or lubricants can cause itching and irritation in the genital area.
* Skin conditions: Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and lichen sclerosis can cause itching and discomfort in the genital area.

It is also possible that the itching could be related to your partner's red patch of skin, which may be a sign of an infection or skin condition. Both of you need to see a healthcare provider to determine the cause of your symptoms and receive appropriate treatment. They may perform a physical exam, take a sample for testing, or recommend medication to relieve the itching and treat any underlying conditions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
