What Causes Severe Itching In The Body During Pregnancy?

i am 26th week pregnant age 29 yr . facing severe itching on whole body since 5 days i checked my sgpt sgot level yesterday .the level of SGPT is 40.16 u/l and SGOT level is 45.40 u/l . is there is any risk in pregnancy please suggest me medication and management for this case?

Hi I think you can be having cholestasis of pregnancy. You can take ursodeoxycholic and liv 52 tablets after consulting your doctor. You can take some antihistaminics like cetrizine or avil if itching is more. You can apply calamine lotion over itchy areas. Generally it is not a risky condition but you should be careful in last trimester to not overrun your due date. Have frequent antenatal check up. Hope it helps.
