What Causes Severe Itching In The Groin And Thighs After Taking Meloxicam?

I am a 50 year old male, 5 8 215 lbs. I was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus 4 years ago with substantial cracking on my foreskin. Sitz baths, and Clobetasol every day for a week cleared it up. Minor flare up every three months or so, cured with one or two applications of Clobetasol. (one tube used in four years) Had a minor neck and should injury six weeks ago. MRI suggests all I need is physical therapy for a few more weeks. I have been on Meloxicam 15mg for 29 days. After five days on the drug I began having severe itching in the groin and thighs a few times each day. Do you think the Meloxicam could have caused any harm with regard to the Lichen Sclerosus?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It's late allergic manifestation of meloxicam (and it's not prescribed for lichen), you can ask in your next follow up to change this, there are better drugs available than this (immunity can be strengthened if you learn breathing exercises like sky technique, eat antioxidants, multivitamin for few days).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
