Severe itching in the vagina during third trimester of pregnancy is commonly because of the changes in the vaginal ph levels. You are suggested to apply cold compression (from front to back) for relieve. Wear cotton clothes and take care of your hygiene. Avoid use of scented soap, use herbal or medicated soap. For relieve you can apply soframycin ointment lightly. Anti-fungal ointments are also effective. Avoid sex for a couple of days. To stay on the safer side you can have STD test done.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
