What Causes Severe Itching Of The Palm Area?

Question: I have been experiencing intense itching under the skin of my palms of my hands and also, in my fingers. I also have the same problem with my feet.. It is intermittent and does not seem to be associated with any food or organic substance. I am a recent (56 days) recovering alcoholic.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems that the itching of your palms of your hands and feet is related to any hepatic pathology taking into account you're recovering alcoholic. However, to be more precise, I should have a look at your hands and feet to evaluate the changes myself, and rule out fungal infection. For the moment, I can only advise to keep good hygiene. And apply anti-itching ointment locally.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
