What Causes Severe Itching On Back, Legs, Arms And Abdomen?
I have been experiencing itching skin on my back, legs, arms and abdomen for the past three days. I recently started taking hydrochlorothiazide (3 days so far, 25mg) and switched to Crestor from a different statin about 6 weeks ago. I haven t had any other symptoms other than a certain heartburn that I have had for the last year which is helped by pepcid which I take as need (three or so times a week)
Severe itching on back, legs, arms and abdomen since 3 days could be due to some allergy possibly because of hydrochlorthiazide or crestor.
However, there is no need to worry it can be fixed by oral anti-allergic medications like cetrzine 10 mg twice daily.
For your heart burn, you may continue to take pepcid (famotidine) as you are taking along with digene or gelusil liquid 2TSF two times daily which will also be helpful.
If theses itching persists even after symptomatic treatment, then better to see your treating physician for further consideration of medicines.
Hope this helps.
