What Causes Severe Itching On Feet, Ankles And Calves?

Hi the skin on my feet, ankles and calfs are really itchy to the point where I itch so hard I ve badly bruised my calfs....I do bruise easily and I have no allergies or skin problems. Just wondering what could be causing the itching and is it normal to bruise so easily

Hello,

The following are causes of intense itching all over the body:
1) Allergic contact dermatitis
2) Dry skin especially in winters
3) Chronic liver failure
4) Psoriasis
5) Insect bites
6) Hives

Mostly your itching might be due to Xerosis or dryness of skin. The following are advised:
1) Apply a moisturizing lotion or cream all over the body
2) It is to be applied immediately after shower on slightly wet skin
3) Tab. Cetrizine twice daily for 4-5 days would help reduce itching

If your itching persists even after above treatment, you need to see a dermatologist for further evaluation.
