What Causes Severe Itching On The Body?

Hi doctor I am facing a itchy skin issues from last 4 years i used to be itching on public places and anywhere my skin gets itchy all the time i scratch my bodyand i have a big mark on my leg also it s looks like a dry part and always i am scratching that part, i usedso many creams but still the dsme issues. Please suggest me some good medicines. Thanks Ahmed Ali

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of severe itching on body which could be due to fungal infection mainly tinea, as it localizes on body folds. It could be due to allergic reaction or nodular scabies. I would suggest you not to worry about it. You shroud oral tablets of Terbinafine. Maintain complete hygiene. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1% cream at affected sites. You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take tablet of Cetirizine for symptomatic relief from itching.
