What Causes Severe Itching On The Hands And Feet?

I am having itchy hands and feet. I gave no visible Exterior rash. It comes and goes but it is very uncomfortable. I assume I m having some type of allergic reaction but have no idea what it could be that is causing this discomfort. What can I take to help alleviate the itchiness

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

This indicates a local allergic reaction that is progressing to systemic reaction(may be a result of unnoticed insults like an insect bite reaction). This needs urgent administration of intravenous anti-allergic drugs to prevent progression to anaphylaxis and shock.

Kindly reach ER without delay. After the initial shot of steroid and antihistamine, if vitals are stable, this just needs antihistamine & / steroid tablets for 5-7 days. Your doctor will guide in this.

Meanwhile, if available, you can take one tablet each of Prednisolone and Benadryl.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
