What Causes Severe Itching Sensation All Over The Body?
I have a constant itch over all my body (except my face). I have had it for five months and have seen several different GPs and a dermatologist. Nobody knows what to do for me. I have been treated with steroids, antihistamines and antibiotics and this has made no difference. My skin was very sore and had many scratch wounds which were infected. However, since I started wearing cotton gloves at night, my skin has cleared up. I use Dermal cream twice a day to treat my skin and this has now helped to heal it. However, I still itch and nothing helps that. My ankles are swollen and I have found that I do not need to go to the loo in the night as has been my wont. I don t sleep for long at a time as I wake up itching. I have had two skin biopsies but have not yet had a result (5 weeks) and I have had blood tests which were normal. Is there anything else \i can do

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe itching sensation all over the body which is because of clogging of skin pores with bacteria, debris and sebum and skin has increased sensitivity of getting pigmented. It could be due to allergic reaction, contact dermatitis, systemic reaction and poor and compromised immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cream rich in Azelaic acid or Kojic acid. You should start with antihistamine medication such as Benadryl. Apply cold compresses on body. You should use medicated sunscreen such as Tancare rich in SPF 30. You can visit dermatologist once and can go for chemical peeling or micro abrasion if your symptoms not resolving. Take supplements rich in vitamin C. Avoid applying any hard cosmetics.
