What Causes Severe Itching Sensation And Discoloration Of Toes?

My teenaged daughter has a recurring/chronic (though intermittent) problem with intensely itchy toes. The itch becomes worse at night--generally between 9 and midnight. She has had this problem for several years--but only once or twice a year. After several days, the skin becomes discolored (purplish) and eventually sloughs off. The itch dissipates and the toes heal.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, in my opinion underlying cause of itch need to be ruled out looking to the history give here it could be psoriasis, and in that case cure is not less likely, long term local steroid may helps, Mometasone can be tried hope this information helps.
I find this answer helpful
