What Causes Severe Itching Sensation In Hands And Legs Despite Taking Levothyroxine
Grandaughter age 8 severe itching hands and feet, no rash. Diagnosed with hashimotos and on levothyroxine. After 2 weeks, itching totally gone. However, tsh and t4 still elevated, so levothroxine increased and levels now normal. However, severe itching returned after 6 weeks and has not subsided. Why did mefication work for 6 weeks and then symptoms return, even though tsh and t4 are now normal? Endocrinologist has no answers. Thank you.

Hypothyroidism &levothyroxin has nothing to do with itching. Itching over hands &feet may be allergic, not with levothyroxin, with some thing else. If drug cause allergy itching should be all over the body not over the restricted part . treatment -BetnovateN locally, tab mebryl 1bd
