Hi,
Vaginal itching is an uncomfortable symptom which may be resulted from allergies or irritants, skin diseases like
contact dermatitis, eczema or lichen sclerosus, fungal or
yeast infections like
vaginal candidiasis, public lice, sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, or
bacterial vaginosis, hormonal imbalances like low estrogen levels due to any causes, pregnancy, stress etc. Treatment depends on causes. You should undergo some investigations like urine R/M/E and C/S, urethral swab for C/S, pelvic ultrasound, serum estrogen etc., to find out the exact underlying causes for your present sufferings and then treat them accordingly.
In the meantime, you can apply mild corticosteroid creams like hydrocortisone and take antihistamines orally for reducing itching sensation in the vaginal area. For bacterial vaginosis or sexually transmitted diseases, antibiotics may be needed. Similarly, for fungal infections, antifungal medications should be needed. If this itching sensation in the vaginal area lasts for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor first for
medical help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
