What Causes Severe Itching Sensation Inside The Ears?

Hi there, for the past year I ve had extremely itchy ears inside, like I can t scratch deep enough, scabs, hard balls that fall out and when laying on side sometimes they just fall out on their own...I also have been told by many friends and family that my hearing is poor..any ideas?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have severe itching sensation inside the ears . Well there can be many reasons for itching like slightest accumulation of debris, even a dead hair, may be felt as an itching sensation ear canal dermatitis , otitis media and wax buildup . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan and examine with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (gentamycin ) for a week along with corticosteroid ear drops and may remove wax . For now you can put 2 drops of olive oil once a day to prevent dryness and cover your ear while bathing .
