What Causes Severe Joint Pain After Tooth Extraction?

I had 14 teeth extracted and was put to sleep and also had an enormous dose of novocain because the feeling did not come back into my chin, lips and nose until almost 18 hours later. I now have severe pains in all my joints. I was given Oxycodon to take 1 pill every 6 hours when I was released from the hospital. I am not able to get any help from the dentist or my doctor for the pain in my body. What do you suggest? I quit taking the Percoset because I thought it may be causing the severe joint pain. I have pain where the teeth were pulled but the joint pain is really bad.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that joint pain is due to side effect of the

anaesthesia or side effect of medication if you are taking any..

Do not worry as gradually when the effect of anaesthesia will wean off the

pain will be resolved..

I would suggest you to take higher painkillers like Tramadol and appropriate rest..

In case if the pain still does not subside in 2-3 days, you need to consult a

General Physician and get evaluated to rule out that the symptoms are due

to side effect of medication only or is due to any other problem..

As of now take painkillers and muscle relaxants and along with it take a

nutritious diet and sufficient rest..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
