What Causes Severe Leg Cramps?

I had an ORIF 11 months ago following tib/fib fracture. Plates and screws remain in-situ. Over the last couple of weeks I have been experience severe leg cramps at nighttime/early morning, in that leg. Is this common in legs that have metalwork - or is this just coincidence?

Hello,
this ofcourse not common to have pain 11 months after fracture and internal fixation i.e ORIF. You need to do a X-Ray of your concerned leg to check the status of plates and screws.
Also. it can be a muscle cramp also, Take some painkillers i.e tab aceclofenac for few days and then go for xray.
