What Causes Severe Leg Pain Post Gallbladder Removal Surgery?

Since I had gallbladder surgery per lap, since being in the hospital I have had extreme leg aches. I have had 3 and C/S and an Abdominal Hysterectomy. When I had 3rd C/S, it took approx 30 min to get baby out due to adhesions & scar tissue. Was very frightening because I am a RN and this is my field of expertise. After my hysterectomy I had to go through read related to my bladder & pelvic floor strength. I could not feel the urge to urinate. It was explained to me that my uterus was attached to my bladder, so surgery was explained to me as being tedious. It got to the point where I did not feel that I was emptying my bladder. From my OB, to my Urologist, I was sent to a Specialist in OB/URO. They did many test one of which my original OB has remarked about when uterus was attached to uterus, regarding the chance of leaving a hole in my bladder. The Specialist did several test in relation to check this out and thankfully did not discover a hole. Stated I had lot of weekends in said areas. That s when he ordered rehab for my condition. After I finished rehab, I actually was able to feel the need to urinate and this lasted up until I had GB surgery. I no longer feel the urge to urinate and as I said from night one of my surgery I have had extreme leg aches. In fact, I have discovered when my bladder gets full my legs ache severely. However, this correlation is ceasing. My legs hurt/ache just about every day. I had pancreatitis prior to GB surgery only because I put surgery off due to insurance & work, big mistake. After all this info. Necessary or not. My question is could something have been damaged due to having GB removed per lap. ? I, on one hand wish I would have had surgery instead of per lap. to have GB removed. This is getting worse with time. My GB surg was Oct. 2013.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is not related to gall bladder surgery. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persists you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
